How Do I Purchase a Registration and Claim My Fundraising Page?


As part of this Registration with Fundraising event, we’ll automatically generate a fundraising page for you so friends and family can donate. This support article will walk you through how to purchase a registration and claim your fundraising page.

How do I create or join a team?


As the saying goes, two heads are better than one. This is definitely the case if we’re talking about fundraising. While every individual effort counts, sometimes it is best to combine forces with other like minded, do-gooders and become part of something bigger. The below article will explain how to Create or Join a team in just a few simple steps.

Is this donation tax deductible?
Autism Society of Alaska is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

When is the event?
Saturday, June 2nd 2018

Where is the event?
We start & stop on the right side of the parking lot of Pioneer Park. Check out our map on the 5K page for details.

Is there a theme?
YES! This year is a huge celebration as it marks a decade of acceptance in Alaska! We are finally doing a costume theme! Dress up as your favorite cartoon character and arrive early to enter the contest! 

Is there a costume contest?
Is the sky blue? Of course there’s a contest! Arrive EARLY to be entered!

Should we wear costumes?
Wearing a costume makes both running and walking a lot more fun. There’s a costume contest going on and you’ll want compete! But please do not feel pressured to take part if you do not wish, this is for FUN!

Do I get a shirt?
We will have 450 T-shirts for the event available on a first come, first serve pick up basis. Registering for the event does not confirm your shirt, so please pick up early if you wish to have a limited edition 10th Annual Alaska 5k Shirt!

When/where can I get a shirt?
Autism Society Office 1024 Barnette Street Located between ACCA and Public Health 
Tuesday, May 29th 4:30 - 7:30 
Saturday, May 26th 12:00 - 3:00 
Event Day at Pioneer Park 9:00 - 10:30

What do I get with my entry fee?
A 10th Annual Alaska 5K for Autism T-Shirt as supplies last, a safe and well marked 5K route, event entertainment, and the unparalleled satisfaction of having been part of the 10th Annual Alaska 5k for Autism tradition.

How serious of a race is this?
As serious as you want it to be! This event is to celebrate our families with autism & this year we are focusing on FAMILY FUN! This event will not be chip-timed, but we will provide a large timer at the finish and ask our competitive fastest people to move to the front at the start of the race and we ask the slower people to stand further back to let them RUN.

Can kids be in the race?
Absolutely!

Can I volunteer?
Please! We are always looking for volunteers. E-mail Ellen at [email protected] with specific questions and to be added to the official volunteer list! You may also want to join our Facebook Page and e-mail list so you’ll know when new opportunities come up.

How much does it cost?
It depends. $15 for youth, $20 for juniors, $25 for adults  and $35 for all day of registration. NOTE: Day of registration will be $35 for ALL members, so be sure to save and register TODAY!

Is there an early bird special?
Price is the same from today - June 1st. The event price will increase on race day as each participant will be $35 -  purchase prior to race day to save!

How long will the race take?
It all depends on you! Fast people will be able to get through the 5k in under 20 minutes. Some people may take up to 1 hour or more. Family friendly options are going to be made available for those who would only like to take part in the first mile.

What are you raising money for?
Every dollar stays in ALASKA to support those who have autism through the efforts of the Autism Society of Alaska!

What if I need to use the bathroom?
Pioneer Park will be open!

Are there other 5k event happening this day?
Thankfully, NO!

Will this race be professionally photographed?
