Sensory Santa is an event for families with children on all spectrums of special needs, providing a more controlled and welcoming environment to enjoy The Santa Photo Experience. Simple adjustments are made to reduce sensory stimuli (muted lights, no music, and no lines) and to create a calming environment.
Safety is one of the Autism Society of Alaska’s top priorities. Thanks to GVEA Good Cents Foundation, we will be offering a limited number of safety kits at our Sensory Santa Event. These kits aim to prevent, reduce, and improve the outcomes of incidents of wandering.
Inside your kit you will find door and window alarms, adhesive stop signs, shoe ID tag, safety alert window clings, ID kit, safety alert wristband, and safety information booklet.
There will be a limited number of safety kits available and one per household, given on a first come first serve basis. Unfortunately at this time, the kits must be picked up in person by the receiving family with no holds. We hope to offer more options in the future.
